Hiragana and Katakana are Japanese alphabets, which may look like a drawing at first ! Upon completion of this course, you will be able to read and write a number of Japanese words using Hiragana and Katakana ! The class also introduces a couple of Japanese greeting expressions.
2. Beginning Japanese Series
Textbook: Genki I (Third Edition)
Now let’s focus on the development of basic language skills – speaking, reading, and writing ! Students will be able to read and produce Japanese sentences with Hiragana, Katakana, and a number of Kanji upon completion of the Beginning series. Kanji characters will be introduced from Lesson 3. Basic knowledge of Hiragana & Katakana is recommended.
3. Kanji Series (w/emphasis on conversational skills !)
Textbook: Basic Kanji Book Vol.1 (New Edition 2015-)
The kanji series is perfect for brushing up your Japanese skills ! This is where you try speaking, reading and writing longer sentences using Kanji. The instructor will ask you a lot of questions in Japanese during class, so you can develop your conversational skills as well !
